Projektmanager brauchen keine Branchenkenntniss!

Meist werden Mitarbeiter zu Projektleitern ernannt, die über besondere Expertise im Projektgegenstand verfügen. Klaus Tumuscheit hält dies für einen gravierenden Fehler, da Projektleiter in erster Linie Projektmanagement beherrschen müssten. Wer nur Fachexperte ist, schade sogar dem Projekt, da er zum einen die Kompetenz des Teams nicht ausreichend einbinde und zum anderen die Managementaufgaben nur unzureichend erfülle. Tumuscheit plädiert für ein größeres Projektmanagement-Bewusstsein und appelliert an Top-Manager, in den Aufbau von Projektmanagementkompetenz ihrer Mitarbeiter Zeit und Geld zu investieren, um die Erfolgschancen ihrer Projekte zu erhöhen.
